Message Board HelpNew eh? Wanna find out what it's all about eh?Anyone may post a message here, welcome! You don't need to register, simply press the "Post a message" button and enter the name you want to use on the message board. If this is your first post, whatever password you enter will become your password (you can change it later if you like.) Note:The password will be known to the administrator so don't use your mastercard pin number eh! Note: Sometimes we turn off this welcoming gesture of letting anyone in when we
are getting spammed. Do a test message first to see if we aren't accepting new users - you can edit it
again if we are. email Messageboard OperationAll new posts are immediately added to the top of the list. The message board is a cross between a chat room, a forum and a guestbook. Basically it just allows you to add a new message to the top of the list - how topics develop and the flow of messages is totally up to you. As a user with a password you may edit or delete any of your posts. Simply press the "Edit" or "Delete" text next to your message. A form will display allowing you to enter your password (you may only edit or delete your own messages). Pressing the delete or update button will finish the job. Note: You might need to press your browsers refresh button after performing any post, edit or delete, depending on your browser and settings. What's a member?Well, there aren't really members as it isn't really a club, it's just a bunch of guys that ride together because it's more fun that way. CrustyQuinns.com is where we meet when we aren't riding - to chat and to earn rider points. If you have been on a ride then it's likely that someone will take your picture and enter you into the player database - which gives you a position on the intro page scoreboard. Until your first ride with CQ, you are a "visitor" in the system. Messageboard TricksYou can include URL links in your posts if you like. It helps if you can speak HTML, but this simple example will sort you out. URL DESCRIPTION If you type that in just like that, where your URL might be "http://www.planetunreal.com" and your URL DESCRIPTION might be "Planet Unreal" then you will get a link in your message just like this: Planet Unreal You can also include pictures. You will need to put them somewhere on the web first (or in the CrustyQuinns.com Gallery - if you are a player that is. Use the standard HTML tags to bold text and to italify text Note:Be careful with your HTML tags because I haven't put in much error checking - if you miss a quotation mark or something, you'll muck up the board. Easy fixed though; edit the message, fix the problem, resubmit the message. DisclaimerThis message board was developed by JAW written in Perl and therefore probably still
contains bugs. If you do have a bug then report it to JAW, 7th September 2001 |
