Bike ya have? 2005 Honda XR 650
Wot's ya Profile? OK I come from Cairns Far North Queensland and in 1973 My Mum and Dad rode trail bikes{Hondas},in late 74 or 75 they set off to ride from Cairns to the cape with a group of mates. They were from what I am told the first to do it on trail bikes. Some years later when money permitted I took it up and loved adventure riding as well. I started doing some local poney expresses and got good results so the local Honda dealer started looking after us .Myself and a good friend I used to ride with were now racing for free. But I was an apprentice Aircraft engineer and the racing started to get in the way of my trade so I had to give it up,the trade was more important to me.Got into following Wayne Gardner got a Honda V4 roadie met a girl who hated bikes got rid of the bike, traveled australia yarda yarda yarda. She left.Moved to Perth, got into business yarda yarda yarda. Bought a new bike XR 650R at the end of 2004 with my girlfriend and an XR250 for her. Been out on some great trail rides down south both of us it has been great. Last year went to Cairns and rode to the Cape with Paul Dewar it was fantastic and would recomend anyone do it although it was a lifelong dream for me to retrace some of my parents footsteps. If any riders want to do the cape run get in contact with me or Paul first as we can give you a heads up because the tour we did was run by a dickhead and our whole group left on a bit of a downer. 2008 I am booked on an adventure ride from Cairns to Broome and I am looking forward to it.It is a charity ride covering 4500kms in 13 to 14 days I have paid my non refundable deposit I am determend ,focused and I am going. So need to do lots of training and lots of riding. Another reason to join Crustys
Stylin' or holdin' on? My riding style is about getting to work on monday morning. So I dont push the limits and know when to back off.I have done the racing now I like the scenery and some technical sections.
Fave Spot? The best riding area or pitcuresque I have found so far is Greenbushes down south.Love forrest trails.
Howdyajoin? Found out through a new member Paul Dewar
