Tommy and I were keen for a ride, and pounce put his hand up to lead, so we all met up at the pub with no beer (closed!) in sawyers valley. pounce, Tommy, Shaun, JB, new bloke Donza and another new bloke my mate Tommy. (USA Tommy??) Booted up and riding by 8:30, Pounce leading off in the usual direction I made about 2km before my first lay down, and thus set the mood for the day! T'was a bit dry and the pea gravel was doing its best to kill me. The trails were awesome a real variety tight, twisty, rocky, some more open stuff and more rocks and more pea gravel. USA Tommy had an incident with a tree and no surprises the tree won! His finger coped a new colour but he dug deep and finished the ride. I had 4 or 5 crashes, just could not get my shit together, maybe I was missing Robby!! Pounce led us thru to the lakes new roadhouse for a fuel up and quick feed,after about 80km, I did wonder for 1/2 a second if he'd lost it, and forgot we parked at Sawyers, but it was all part of his plan. Unfortunately the roadhouse was all out of mojo and my day didn't improve and the dreaded pea gravel just kept smashing me! But at least I didn't bin it at the servo, in front of 50 people....!! Pounce lead us off on the long way back to Sawyers thru some great tracks, real mix but it was a bit dusty in places, Bloody rain where is it?? Back at the cars 120km done USA Tommy and myself a bit worse for wear, but still grinning like idiots, great day out. Cheers pounce the promised tyre is in the mail, cheers Tommy for sweeping and the rest for the laughs, mostly on me!! Even tho I crashed more than anyone I think stack of the day has to go to USA Tommy for binning it on concrete in front of an audience at the lakes!!
