Mick Tommy Ross Hooters Bunga They say it’s and old mans ride, pigs arse We meet at the Dome in Kingsley for an 8 am start with a quick coffee and the famous five were on our way towards Bullsbrook. As soon as I hit the dirt I was terrified for I had not ridden the Kato with a 19 liter tank and tank bag and the new tyres may as well been made of steel. Drop some air out and felt only a little bit confident. First water crossing was interesting as Mick went first and down the DR sank into soft sand and murky water. With every ones boots full of swamp water off we went. To be truthful from Bullsbrook onwards I have no bloody idea where we went until we arrived back at the Parkerville Tavern for a well earned beer. Lots of dust and a good mix of single trails, forest roads and bitumen. I got in a bit of trouble for creating to much dust but couldn’t help doing a few power slides, sorry Tommy. I fell off but know one witnessed it so all is good. Now as far as I can work out we have 2 contenders for ride of the day. Ross for turning up hungover after a big night at the Paddo great effort and Hooters for loading up the 690 on his maiden trip through some challenging tracks. I will leave the decision to a higher authority but Hooters did think he deserves 2 points for riding the big bike and said I should only get half a point. Anyhow all up I think we covered 250/280 kms for the day. A great effort by everyone and thanks for the ride. Cheers Bunga                    |
