A nice gentleman’s start at 8am at Banksia Grove HJs and we were off with Mick leading all the way. The rest of us took turns as sweep but I think I spent more time in the dust than the others, it may say something about my lack of speed and skill. Anyhow as expected dust all day long with not even a hint of a puddle anywhere. It was Bullsbrook then out to the north east to Mogumber area I think. Lots of fence line tracks with a mix of single trails thrown in. I think it was a big loop with a much needed streak sandwich at Gin Gin pub even though I had been dreaming of a bakers pie all morning.
Lunch done and a beer to wash down the dust and off we went along the powerline track towards the OVT for a very well earned beer to finish the day. The dust on the last leg of the ride was the worst but then I was down the back of the pack.
Talking of legs, Hooters decided to be the fashionista bitch for the day. I’m sure if we ask Tommy nicely he will produce the photo.
I did 370 kms on the tank and if I really pushed it I may get 400 kms out of a 19ltr tank so pretty happy with the economy.
I think Mick calculated the ride to be about 320 kms all up.
A great day out with the lads, thanks for leading Mick and a pleasure to ride with the Crustys again.
Bunga.

Thanks for the report Bunga. It was the 500 club ride yesterday with Tommy the odd one out on the DR. There was a few new tracks for me which were kindly donated by Tommy and as always it was a pleasure to lead the ride in summertime. The air filter should still be good for the next ride. It was interesting to see the difference the gearing made to the fuel range of the 500s, mine pulled into the servo with 330klms on the clock with the low fuel light on and took 18.2 litres for a 19 litre tank. Bunga cruised home with a few litres to spare. Happy Birthday Hooters.
