Mickal stepped up again and called a ride 100km loop from Paddy's bush bar. I laid a few baits around and Jed, now a custy regular and a couple of buddies of mine from the "Nights" came along, Franky and Nicko. A great mix of people all bout the same pace and a casual 8am start from the pub. We were pre warned it might be a bit of an exploratory run, and it was ( according to Mick) but you wouldn't have known it- awesome trails a real mix of fast tracks tighter single- but not too tight just right for the casual sat ride we were all looking for. There was some bush bashing and heaps of logs- just enough to spice it up a bit. I took the 500 and was having a ball blasting back and forth in the middle of the pack, Carl was sucking dust down the back sweeping- cheers bro. It was dusty, but with only 6 of us it wasn't too bad. I'm learning to deal with it,I mean, faaaark ya gotta unless you want a 3 month ride season. I'm still looking forward to the rain tho. There were a couple of oh f**k moments and its nice being a short arse when there're logs across the track at head height, Frank scored a wee ouchie on his pinkie, and Micky can to jump logs- but only if he hasn't seen them.....!
great ride, nice pace and the only drama was a flat front 3km from the utes- awesome. Great to see some new blood and I'll be stirring Nicko and Franky to come riding with Crusty's again. Thanks Micky for leading and Carl on dust sucking duty. The day was wrapped up with lunch and a couple of coldies, 100km done and wrapped by 2pm
Ciao, Hooters
