The warped disc ride.
Players: Husq mike, Mickkal, KTmike,Jack. Mike called the ride to explore some new and old tracks in his 'backyard'. Was a cool morning but sun was shining through so had promise of a great 100k ride. We did about 40ks of great tracks.No need for a sweep as pace was comfortable and no dust. Mickkal had a a little off at the back but no drama. First hiccup came at about the 40k mark when HM was following MK up a gnarley little rutted hill. End result, a bent front disc on my beast.It appeared to have clipped MK's rear swingarm. The only way forward was to removed the disc.We decided to carry on with only a rear brake. Lucky it was not Wokky or Nannup otherwise may have been a different story.Covered some nice wet tracks and a couple of hills. On the last leg we found Mickkal's rear tyre was flat. At that point, it was a unanimous decision to head for home. All in all a great combination of tracks.For his effort it was agreed KTMike gets ROD. HM Some great new tracks today from Mike, def deserves ride of the day for putting on a well thought out ride. Plenty of single with weirdly spaced whoops leftover from the dozer grooves and also a few slippery hills. Husky Mikes'' sneaky move to use me as traction on that hill didn't work out well for his front disc and it just shows how flimsy those two strokes can be. Never seen a disk bent like that before and will make a great trophy in the shed. Mickkal Great backyard you have there KTMike, out the front gate and straight away into a hill climb for spectacular city vista views. Really enjoyed the trails today and feel knackerd after the 99.6 km’s of mixed single, twin track, railway line ballast and a few good hill climbs. Jack    |
