Junior calls a ride on Tuesday for a dole bludgers hook on Friday @ Julimar. Just so happens I have the day off, Im in!
Bikemad takes the bait that's 3, Husky Mikes sitting on the fence but he falls off, he,s in and the smell of sausages lures Jacko in. Boom, that's 5, all of a sudden I'm out numbered, 4 smokers and one 4T.
0830 at the Julimar Crusty carpark and we are ready to hit the button.
Meet Zane for the first time, already I'm getting nervous, too many guns on whipper snippers but I soldier on.
First time rider (Slates) with Crustys in the Julimar State Forest and its not long before we form a rhythm. Junior points us in the right direction with the ever reliable Jacko keeping the bandits off our tail!
We are cruising on open pea gravel trails, little single trails and everything in between and I have mosquito fleet behind me buzzing in my ear! its the areogard or move over so I choose the later. These two bangers are running a muck, if its not Zane up my rear guard its Husky nipping at my heels. Jnrs so far out in front he is dancing to his own playlist and I think Jacko is just sitting back wondering how can this guy consistently take so many bad lines.
The next corner and Husky Mike fly's past the lead rider much to Juniors amusement, this guys already winning Dakar Stage 3 and no pesky lead rider is going to stop him on a slight bend in a track. Jnr asks me if he is invisible which I reply you are not, however you are not a good looking rooster so I can see why Husky didn't stop!!
We crack on and punch through 45 minutes of single trail and Madrider clips a rock which is determine to bust up his knee but he brushes it off with a Royal Queen salute and bangs on without a blink. The dude cant walk but it certainly doesn't effect his riding, I try and take inspiration from his care free attitude but its not long before one of my bad lines catches up with me. Husky Mike was right behind me and he said he couldn't believe how well I landed? In that case I would hate to have a bad landing.
A quick bone inspection its and back to business, I become cautiously slower but the mosquito fleet start filling the air with poisonous gasses and go up a notch....you have got to be kidding!
We smash through more trails, Jnr does not disappoint with his navigating skills and we start heading back to camp Sausagerama.
I must admit I was feeling a bit sore once we hit the carpark but it was soon forgotten after a few beers and Juniors Webber cracking sausage sizzle.
Thanks heaps boys for another superb ride...long live the two banger
