Pre Drinks sawyers Ride
I put the call out for a nice easy Saturday ride so everybody would be in good shape for the Crustys' 20th Piss up later that night. Eight riders turned up and I was the only two stroke, everyone had brought their four strokes expecting an easy ride. The new guy Shaun was on the big 690 KTM, but he looked like he was big enough to throw it around like a 350, and so we set off with me in front and Tiger at the back. Hit the trails and we managed to loose a few riders with in the first 5 minutes but we got that sorted quickly and carried on. So we were sticking to the plan and cruising along some nice easy tracks but then we saw a new single track and we decided to map it out in one direction.
Nice and easy soon turned into about 3 klms of gnarly rock hopping that stopped in the middle of nowhere. So some bush bashing back to the nearest track and continued on. Did that old school hill near the Lakes, the creek run another hill and plenty of single track but still managed to get back to the Tavern by 12:30 with 90 klms on the clock. Someone who shall remain nameless fell off their bike twice while parked up and Shaun should get ROTD (if he signs up) for making everything look super easy on that big 690. A quick couple of beers at the tavern wrapped up a good day out.        |
