The crew were up at four, hitched a the trailer and on the road by 4.20. KXSteve and Col met up with Gazza and Steve525 accidently and drove down the three odd hours together. On arrival they then caught up with JayBo, Scotty and Scotty's oldman.

ENDURO MEN

The trails consisted of mostly tight stuff, lots of slippery mud and a million twist and turns. One section which was a few kms' long involved riding over thousands (lots) of small fallen pine trees. I saw a lot of riders do the unwanted step off after not hitting a log square on.

PITS LANE - AND THE TENSION GROWS BEFORE THE RIDE.

The special test was bloody hard. Not particarly difficult to ride at your leisure, simply hard to ride with the clock ticking. Narrow trails, logs, rocks and a very slippery surface with only 15 seconds between riders meant you were chasing hard but also new you had someone right up your back side.

The course consisted of 2 loops (40 and 45 k's) riden twice with three timed special test. Trail time was easily achieved by all of us with at least a 15 min break between loops. Scotty rode expert, had to ride an extra loop and probably picked a a half hour rest between loops.

Steve525 lost his clutch in the third loop and didn't go out to ride the last one. KX Steve took out a tree with his front end near the end of the second loop and had to retire due to a damaged leg. (handlebar end in the thigh) He picked up SOTD

STEVE'S POOR KX AFTER TAKING OUT A TREE.

THe rest of the boys completed the ride and loved it. Col got the WR bogged over the top of the wheels on a long mud crossing and needed two other riders to help get it out.
I(Colin) enjoyed the first loop the most, riding close by with the two Steves and 4 other other riders most of the way. The last loop I took off with Gazza who I tried to follow at break neck speed through the transport section and by the time we hit the goat trails he was well out of my sight for the rest of the loop. He was flying. He picked up ROTD.

GAZZA'S MIGHTY KTM - IT DIDN'T MISS A BEAT ALL DAY.

ANOTHER SHOT A PITS LANE BEFORE THE BIG RIDE.

Getting up at 4 and arriving home after 6 is a long day and I am sure that later in the week I will think it was all worth it. Tonight however, I am pretty stuffed and will certainly sleep well.
