I didn’t post any thing up prior to this year KDR with cov19 and a couple of people getting injuries it was all up in the air if I was going to make it at all.
It all kick off with scroiterning and street party in Kalgoorlie Thursday night. This year they had Josh Sheehan and a couple of other WA boys putting on a freestyle show , they definitely make doing back flips look easy.
Friday it was out to the track start and finish area for prolog this we’re we were camping for the weekend with hot showers and takeaway food vans it didn’t fill like we were ruffing it at all.
The prolog went well with no issues
Jersey boy prolog well at 25
And I prolog at 61
The cars had a top ten shot out under light in front of a crowed bar area followed by a live band
Saturday was race day one with 2 separate laps of the 125 kms course
Jersey boy was doing well but had a good stack on the second lap but managed to dig deep complete the the day’s racing.
They had the AFL footy on the big screen in font of the bar area then it was followed by the live band once again.
Sunday morning Pounce and Jack drop in to say G’day they had been staying at the broard arrow tavern after completing the holland track they then went out to lake Pebkolilli to veiw some of the action.
Sunday was another good day of racing.
With only one lap of the course.
Overall it was great event and it’s always a good filling finishing in one peice.
Sunday night it was back into Kalgoorlie for presentation which was followed buy a live band yes it was the same band all weekend but they did a great job.
Jersey Boy finished 30th overall and 10th in E3 class
Which is excellent effort for he’s frist desert race.
I finished 58th overall out of 125 starters and 13th in Veteran’s
Big thanks to Jersey boys mate Mark for doing our fuel stops at the half way point
Very efficient and fast.
It’s a great event and the KDR committee are working hard to make it bigger and better every year.
Hope to see u there next year
Cheers Inver
