Holly molly, with a bit of intervention from the Almighty who got to work in the early hours of the morning grooming the sand tracks with a liberal dose of rain created the best riding conditions us CQ’s could ever wish for.

The regulars Bigal, XRCass, Pav and Jack with accompanying guest Bert and Collin couldn’t hold back their excitement and eagerness to get going as dark, very dark clouds loomed over the horizon at the riders brief. XRCass needed to kick the old girl a few too many times in the guts to get her going but once she fired up there was no holding back this fire breathing piece of Honda History.

Quick get away on the black tar into the woops, woops and f**king more woops had our guests question their choice of ride buddies, but the best was about to unfold and once away from the local grommets playground XRCass picked up nice flowing, hardpacked tracks.

Conditions were utopic, pace was fast and grins from ear to ear on all riders faces. Money back guarantee refund policy was not required. Pav made sure XRCass had no time to chill and chased him down at every opportunity, Bigal played across the whole field pulling some descent mono’s at times, whilst Bert and Colin cautiously hung on and focused to stay upright. A few spills for some riders who come in too hot on corners, one quick front puncture repair and then two dry fuel tanks 15km short from OVT rounded off the day’s glamorous conditions.

Transferring fuel from near empty bikes proved more difficult then expected, so Colin had to settle for 60:1 two stroke mix that didn’t seem to bother his 4 banger Kato one little bit. This was the awakening to end our fun here and now and beeline back to OVT in order to avoid pushing the bikes home like little kids who were just having too much fun. Safely back at the OVT the days ride was celebrated further with beers, burgers and banter.

Rider of the day was XRCass who set a cracking pace and picked out tracks that were absolutely primo to ride.
