Sawyers Singles
MickKal, Tommy, Pounce, Jed, Todd, Jacko, Jack, Ash, 2slow Grant, Dazza, Ross, Ian. MickKal, having lead his fair share of rides at Sawyers Valley was excited when he planned 92 kilometres of single track with ruts, sand, rocks and optional hills climbs. Overnight rain had made for perfect conditions, it was sure to be an awesome ride. Thirteen riders turned up at the starting point, a mix of seasoned CQ’s regulars and some newbies all ready to hit the tracks that MickKal had been planning for weeks. MickKal lead the way and set a fast pace. The riders conquered the track with ease, Jacko bringing up the rear to make sure no one was left behind. As the ride went on the riders became more in sync with each other, the conversation and laughter grew louder, traction was harder to find, rocks hurt more and fuel tanks were running on empty but there was smiles all round at the end of the ride having conquered the Sawyers Singles. All riders had a great time and the day was filled with awesome fun. A handful that still had some stamina, celebrated their success with drinks at Sawyer's Tavern. Everyone was sore and exhausted, but they all agreed that the ride was amazing and well worth it. Cheers to MickKal for a good one and Jacko for sweeping.               |
