A top ride for the 10 CQers that came down to take on one of the most challenging "trail rides" so far. The Capel 200 is supposed to be something for all riders level of abilities however with dozens of log crossings, heaps of water ways and huge knee deep mud crossings most of us found it quite demanding.

CAMPING CAPEL STYLE.

Out of a field of around 150 bikes, the Crustys were first out of the gate lead by KXSteve and Col. Craig had trouble almost staight away stalling the WR and the blue machine took 20 minutes to fire up again. He had to ride hard the rest of the loop to get back in time to take on the second loop. Phoch's ride was only short lived as well. He came down a few k's into the ride and landed hard on some rocks doing some serious rib damage. At that point I thought he had SOTD.

THE BIKES LOCKED IN THE PITS. CHECK OUT THE AMOUNT OF WATER LAYING AROUND.

Azza had his eye on the SOTD award and decided to take out a tree and knock himself out. After he came too, he got back on the bike and finished the loop and then decided to ride the second one. Either he's bloody tough or just plain stupid. Good one Azza.

A FEW OF THE CQ BOYS JUST BEFORE THE RIDE.

Col, KXSteve and Steve525 had hooked up on the second loop riding hard when Steve525 picked up a flat rear. While Steve525 was changing his flat, Roley rolled up. Steve525 tolded us to get going as he was fine fixing it himself. We went to ride off and Roley's chain snapped and that was him for the ride. He got towed by another bike back to a check point and we picked him up at the end of the ride with the trailer. Roley picked up his second HOG award.

STEVE525 FIXING HIS FLAT.

Tiger was seen coming in with a grin from ear to ear long after we had the bikes packed up. He had completed the full ride taking on all the special challenge sections so Roley nominated him for ROTD. A lot of other riders only did the one lap because "it was a little hard out there". Well done Tiger. All that goat trail practice with the CQ boys certainly paid off.

DID KXSTEVE SNEEK HIS MUM DOWN IN HIS SLEEPING BAG TO TOOK HIM BREAKFAST?

The ride took us through some great country over ever changing surfaces. Some of the knee deep mud holes ran for 200 meters. The rest of the CQer's all made it around the two loops intact and had a great ride. Can't wait for next year.
