Lano - Cervantes
 HOWARD SHORTLY AFTER COMING TO GRIEF WITH THE KILLER ROO. I thought I would start this ride report off with a pic a Howard. I don't think I have ever seen him looking quite so cheerful. 8 riders turned up for a thrash up to Cervantes and return. The only two regulars were Howard and Craig so to make sure the group went in the right direction, Howard rode lead and Craig looked after sweep. The ride ended only 12 Km's from Lano when a bloody big roo jumped out at Howard and bought him down hard.  "SKIP" THE BUSH KANGAROO. DEAD AS A DOOR NAIL. Howard was knocked out for a few minutes which I am sure must have really scared the other boys. As the group was still in phone range a call was put through to 000. After a long wait another call was put through to 000 to find out the ambo had gone to the wrong location. Sully set of to find the ambo and bought it back with him. Howard was then loaded aboard and Trev picked up the WR in the back of the troopie. The rest of the group rode back to Lano for a play in the dunes. One of the new guys, Danny, returned to the cars sometime later with a suspected broken ankle. A break was confirmed later at Joondalup hospital where Howard was already receiving treatment. Howard was kept in overnight for observation but fortunately, no broken bones. He has a nice big lump and grazing on his forehead and a pretty good black eye. This is why we ride in groups fellows. The Crusty's have been fairly lucky with accidents considering the number of rides we have been on but each time disaster has struck, someone has been there to pick up the pieces.  HOWARD LOOKING A LITTLE WORSE FOR WEAR.  THE BOYS GATHER AT THE OVT.  PREPERATION AT THE LANO OFF ROAD AREA. THESE TWO GUYS LOOK LIKE A COUPLE OF EXPERT ENDURO RIDERS.  WHO IS THIS NEW GUY WEARING GIRLS BIKE PANTS.  GUESS WHO'S IN THE BACK OF THE AMBO? AND OF COURSE HE PICKS UP SOTD FOR HIS EFFORTS.  JUST THOUGHT I WOULD THROW ONE IN OF COLIN THE POM SHOWING OFF ON HIS NEW SMOKER. |
