Wedge - Cervantes
 THE LADS The boys met at 7.00 at the OVT and were in Lano and booted up by around 8.15. The morning was cool and although the tempreture got up into the low 30's, the breeze kept things bearable and also blew the dust of the track. Howard led most of the ride with Col having a few turns up front and Pete riding sweep. The ride up to Cervantes was pretty uneventful with only a couple of small offs. The beach up past Wedge was hard packed and flat and like riding on the Mitchel Freeway. Cliff the wheelie master did a few good mono's while everyone had a rap on Danny's CRF. Pete rode behind Drew most of the day and recon it was a lot of fun watching him keep the little smoker in a staight line and on the trails. Gazza came down hard on the way home and ended up with a bloody big lump on his elbow. It looked painful but he is a tough CQer and said it didn't hurt. Thats a SOTD awar for you mate.  GAZZA'S ELBOW. Craigs came down on the WR not far from the beach section on the way back to Wedge and after a lot of kicking realised the bike was not going to fire up again. Col came to the rescue with the Kawasaki tow rope (soon to be named the WR tow rope) and after a few attempts at a tow start with Craig coming to grief got the bike going again with a tow on the beach.  CRAIG, DANNY AND SHAUN - LUNCH AT CERVANTES. The final 30 k's or so is ussualy ridden hard like hire horses back to the stables. Today was no exception with Howard, Col and Danny coming home hard and fast up front. Danny picked his rider level up a notch and kept the leaders in sight all the way. He picked up the ROTD award and said he had a ball pushing the Honda hard. Shaun kept up a good pace throughout the ride. His riding is smooth and well controlled and gets over the rough rocky stuff without effort.  CRAIG,PETER,DREW,GAZZA AND HOWARD - LUNCH AT CERVANTES. |
