The Pines.
Craig picked up the new 450 KaTOOM during the week and wanted to get out and see how she goes. He said he had been out to the shed each night giving that magic button a push and when I asked why, he said because I can!!
 LOOK HOW NICE AND NEW THIS THING IS. As we pulled away from the cars, KXSteve stopped and said something was terribly wrong with the smoker and we would have to go on with out him. This was his first ride since he did his own engine rebuild - did he only tighten the head bolts down fingue tight?? One of the others said he sounded like his reed valves were stuffed. When we returned he was sitting on Cols trailer with a big grin on his face. The verdict - his choke was on!!!! The other four riders took of for a trip up through the sand quarrys and did a fair bit of riding through the trees to avoid the dusty trails. Did I say dust! The black sand trails were boggy, whooped out and dusty as hell. We even rode on some of the limestone trails to miss them. Craig said the new bike was so different from the old WR he was finding it hard to get used to it straight away. He was kicking down gears then realising the big 450 could pull hard down low. The suspension wasn't set up and it was acting very different. Mind you, the Pines isn't a ride where you can really get into it. John, Pete and Colin all said the same thing - It is worth the drive to get out to some decent riding area away from the sand. Come on the rain and the cool weather.  CRAIG SAID HE WOULD HAVE HAD A SHAVE IF HE HAD KNOWN I WANTED A NEW INTRO PIC!!!! Pete and Col retired early and the other three boys went out for another blast - Craigs probably still sitting on the bike giving that button a push every now and again. |
