North Bannister
Grant called a ride and the boys headed down to Nth Bannister to knock up a few k's of goat trails. There was a bit of rain during the week but not a lot of signs of water once we got down there. Grant lead the pack out towards Metro road and the dust was thick from the start. Orry's young nephew riding Orry's old 450 came along for his first CQ ride and provided plenty of entertainment. I spotted him taking out a tree, hugging a black boy, laying over a log and a couple of times just lying on the ground. Of course we nominated him for the SOTD award.
Orry took the lead half way through the ride and showed us the way over towards Metro Road. Both the boys did a top job leading us around 75 k's of goat trails but only one of them could pick up ROTD. Well done to Orry for his extra knowledge out there in the middle of no where. A new guy (another bloody Pom) Peter came out with Daza for his first ride as well. Pete's back ground riding trials was pretty evident especially on a few small rocky climbs easily getting the smoker up and over where a few others had problems. Daza had never ridden goat trails before and was wondering if they would ever end. Kev came along and stayed at the front of the pack most of the time riding fast and hard as he usually does. Pete followed the group riding sweep and making sure everyone was still upright and travelling in the right direction. Pete managed to get the camera out a couple of times and snap a couple of shots. It's a bit hard to get good action pics with the group moving ahead so quick. Although it was getting a little warm and definitely dusty out there, everyone had a good ride.
