ride report sunday 3/02/08
riders kevin harey rotd not awarded sotd not awarded SUNDAYS ride had a few late withdrawls due to hangovers and other rides the boys where keen to put the politics of the week behind them and get out and do what we all want RIDE OUR BIKES they came from far for and early start with one from willeton, morley ,parkeville there was some tired faces for the 6.45 departure from the ovt. We departed ovt for 20 minute drive to parking area where the boys sounded exhausted just from getting there riding gear on so after the quick breifing and bike check we also discussed that motorcyling was dangerous and we decided to continue. With kevin leading and harey eating the dust from the two bikes in front riding sweep we were of at a fast pace thru some thick sand and about 20ks of sand woops thru some sand trails which ended up on approx 15ks of hard pack terrain with some wheelies and opening of the throttles we then rode some awsome trails to the beach with some nice air time over some of the dunes. We stopped at the beach for some photos and a bullshit and to discuss our thoughts on the weeks events then a large 80 k rid eback to cars with a tricky hill climb and more sand whoops the lead was shared between the three to give every one a clean ride the ride had taken approx 2.5 hrs in the saddle and was enjoyed by all. We loaded the cars had a quite bourbon and chatted about how good the ride was and headed to the ovt which we were welcomed by a cold beer and a counter meal and more bullshit. Was a good safe ride covering lots of different terrain and looked out for each other we all commented on what a great way to spend our sunday. |
