Walpole Enduro
Ride report for Walpole enduro by Sully
Well there was a fair turn out of Crusty's for the Walpole enduro with most folks making a weekend of it and spending a few days down there. Apologies if I missed any crusty's. There was Fiona and Scott, John, Trent, Sam, Craig R and apparently Wes was there as well along with Sully. Scott got stack of the day after he was T-boned on a corner and had his gear lever broken off and he was thrown off the Bike into the bush.(lucky not to suffer more injury than a sore ankle). Fiona I nominate for ride of the day as she finished her first enduro. Though one of the bog holes had her a bit worried so Scott reckoned, as he had to coax her to give it a go. I am probably worthy of the HOG award as I DNFed with 2 flat front tyres after taking 40 minutes to change the first one I got a second flat after the fuel stop so chucked the bike on the ute for the trip back to the pits. The track was brilliant with mainly 4x4 tracks with a bit of really tight stuff thrown in. There was no dust and moist loamy tracks and high speed gravel roads abounded. There was also some great scenery if you cared to look. I fully recommend this ride as one to do and make a weekend of it down there. I only have one photo of the parc Ferme so not worth posting up. Addition from Fiona. "sully - thanks for doing ride report ! and yes i freaked at that first water/mud/bog/stinky slush hole. only 20 mins into the ride and i was paranoid of drowning my bike !!! I wouldnt call it coaxing from scott, more like "stop being a f&c*in princess and ride through it" !!!!!" |
