Brownie gave Acid Gloves a call and told him to unload the bike as Merv was now coming along. The plan was to meet at Brownie's at 12.00 sharp for a ride through the back blocks over to Grenough and return. I was booted up and gone by 11.30 heading along Chapman road on my way to Brownies when the bloody orange thing stopped again. After many attempts I got on the mobile for Julie to come to the rescue with the trailer. After a few minute wait I hit the button and she fired up again. New plan - Head home, drop the carby off and see what the problem is. More crap in the carby - a quick clean out - test ride and the boys have turned up and are waiting on me.

The main jet is good but the bike won't idle. Who cares, it has been a while and I am dying for a ride. Merv was bought up around these parts and knows all the short cuts between the suburbs. I felt like a naughty 16 year old riding a MX bike and trying not to get caught. it wasn't long and we had ridden gravel roads, sandy trails, overgrown trails and sand dunes. After about 40 k's we popped out at the mouth of the Grenough. A few more overgrown trails and whooped out sandy trails and we had made it half way.

The return ride was not as inspiring to say the least. The 450 kept on stopping every few k's. At one stage we were in the middle of a huge sand dune with a dead bike and no way to retrieve it. Fortunately she fires up again and we headed home. We did however ride one of the best goat trails I have been on and cannot wait to hit it again. About 15 from home the bike stopped again. We all took turns pushing her to a bitumen road, found a nice length of fencing fire and tried tow starting. Not even a hint of life in her now. All I can say is I made the HOG award again!!! Thanks Brownie for the rescue.

Merv led what would have been a great ride and picked up the ROTD award. As there were no off's as we are much better riders than are Perth cousins, there was no SOTD award.

The camera didn't come out which was a shame but who wants pics of guys telling me I picked the wrong make of bike anyway!!!
