Crusty Carnage
Date 07/Aug/10
4 Riders FueltankerAllen, Gavin, Wrex, X
Rider of the day Wrex
Stack of the day Gavin
Crusty Carnage
Players Wrex Darin Gavin and FuelTanker Allen.

Wrex called a ride, cleverly keeping the numbers down by mentioning the magic words, Whoops and Sand, adding the word all riders love to hear, carnage.
Four Crustys attended.
After a brief riders meeting Wrex lead us into the Crustys playground in search for every gnarly hill he could find. And find he did.
Darin found the extra 40cc he had plumbed onto the DRZ still requires the back wheel to be on the ground when his pegs became wedged in a bike eating rut.
Wrex leads a little like another Crusty, he flies up a snotty hill then turns around to watch the carnage. He had box seats for most of the days misadventures.
Some brave riding from Gavin and Darin attempted every challenging climb set up by Wrex. These guys are gutsy riders.
I took over lead rider for a while to get my own back but Wrex is hard to shake. The only thing that got him concerned as the WR running on fumes so off to the Yanchep Station for breakfast.
Refueled and refooded we headed North to climb a few more hills and play with the wildlife. Gavin had an intriguing hill climbing problem. Time after time he made it to the top of a hill and fell off at the top. The one time he got there without a fall he threw the bike to the ground and fell over, on purpose. Every time Gavin got back on the bike and had another go. Great effort Gavin but still SOTD, check the photo.
Darin had got the hang of the sand and was riding fast. Some riding, sliding, falling and spinning later we made it to Wilbinga along the coastal tracks.
The man of steel (Wrex) lead though the inland track fending off four wheel drives left and right. I checked the skid marks on one near miss and if Wrex had stayed on the track he would be OFC One Flat Crusty.
Gavins adventures hadnt finished. Somewhere on Breakwater Drive his WR decided it had had enough punishment for one day and spat oil all over his header pipe. This bike would take the last part of the ride on the back of Darins ute.
Darin had one skill to show to our group, how to ride at 80ks with a flat front tire. The old theory that its only flat on the bottom doesnt work at this speed on the road.
Considering the carnage on the day there was not a face without a smile.
ROTD to Wrex for showing the skills to get to the top of those gnarly hills and yell down advice (or abuse) whatever was required. Great ride guys.

Gavin's unique hill climbing style. He got to the top.

A wave to the Crusty's that couldn't handle the sand.

Darin getting the hang of the bottomless sand.

WRex demonstrating how to crash with style and grace.
