I called a ride on Easter/ANZAC w/end knowing that a lot of guys are away and hoped that small numbers would suit the dry & dusty conditions we are experiencing.

5 turned up, 3 of which I had not met before but true to the usual Crusty form, (we all have a passion for off road bikes) and after initial introductions we are like old mates with a bit of humour & banter.

A quick riders meeting and we were on our way, the old DRZilla was a bit nervous with a 570, 2 x 530's and a 450 chasing, but my advantage of NO Dust and the conditions behind me kept the group nicely spaced.

We used the old tighter single tracks to Bannister (not North Bannister) and the burgers as usual were fantastic. We rode the faster open tracks on the return journey with a few hill climbs chucked in for good measure, and in my opinion, resulted overall in one of the best rides I have led. (it will be awesome in wet conditions)

Towards the end I could sense the guys were hanging for a beer (so was I) so we cut a few K's off and head back to the cars.

With only 5 of us, we opted out of a sweep and decided a corner man would only leave once 3 others were accounted for, it worked well, every one (except me) had a go at the back of the pack, 140kms, no stacks, no one lost, no delays - all good.

Thanks for a great day out and the new guys are already talking about calling a ride in a new area. Good onya, I look forward to that.
