Mick and Andy chased away the rain by calling a ride on Saturday.

Andy was keen to have a weekend ride and Mick450 took up the challenge.

For those of you who have been on a Mick450 ride you understand the underlying message behind his post.

1. Ok Booted up Leave OVT 8.00am Saturday.
Bring money for smoko (we will be able to buy food but not fuel)
2. If you ride a DRZ bring a litre of fuel.
Iff you ride any thing else bring 2 litres of fuel.
3. Ifff you don't like SAND or have to be home by 12 o'clock don't come.
4. Best thing about this ride will be the bears (beers) at the OVT afterwards!!!!

Babblefish translation software suggests:

1. Dont be late.
2. You will be riding a long long way.
3. You will be gone for a long long time.
4. Expect anything, it will be an adventure with beer.

The ride meeting suggested we were headed for the Discovery Centre. Mick450 in the lead and Karlo on sweeping duties.

Karlo let us know that he was riding at 75% and would suck dust for the day. Strange that he kept up with the crew all day,

Andy had a stack in the driveway and took this as a bad omen and called in sick.

He comes close to getting a ride point as he had an early stack and was there for the beer part of the day.

The group covered ground quickly and rode some excellent tracks through the pines stopping at a lookout after a few quick Ks. Mick450 was in the zone, sliding the big Ktoom for the first 40 Kms.

Mick530 had managed to shorten his leg on a gotya rock. These little white rocks are attached to bigger rocks which are attached to the core of the Earth. Some rims looked a bit flatter in spots and I heard stories about a stack or two but this needs to be confirmed.

Mick and Tommy looked Eastward and pined for the tracks near Julimar and the decision was made to ride into the sunrise.

* The CQ guidelines state proudly that all riders and bikes must be licenced. At lest one Calm Employee is not a fan of the website. After courteous waves from two fire truck drives, Mick had a discussion with an officer about the registration of our bikes. An enthusiastic, Yes they are! No they arent! discussion followed.

Back on the track.

I seem to remember a track across this swamp lead to the group working its way across a swamp. Hard enough you say, well to add the Mick450 spin to it, the swamp was burning.

It can be a little annoying when you think your travelling at warp speed and Lee , Paul or Mick spear past while adjusting their camelback mouthpiece with one hand .

A Tommyless decision was made to change the lunchtime venue and the Discovery Centre was selected due to legal reasons.

Lunch at the Discovery Centre was the first time I have seen Mrs Macs pie presented with a tossed salad. We scared some tourists but Bob was friendly enough to show us a solar flare through a telescope. (I still think he coloured the lens in red with a texta.)

We all know how much Tommy loves sand, well we do now! The Wilbinga track was soft. Some loved it.Tommy didnt. It is great to see a rider who loves riding and hates sand as much as I hate rocks. Much to our amusement he made it up every sandy hill. He roosted a 4x4 as an act of defiance.

Just when you thought the adventure was over our mighty leader took on a Hilux on the bitumen. ( In Micks defence, he had his hand out. )

Lee did a little ballet with his KTM and tried to convince us that it was on purpose and he was just turning the bike around.

Ross had a great ride and always seemed to be either on a corner or just about to pass you, that Yamaha throws a mean roost. The annoying fact is at the end of an exhausting, dusty ride, he looks clean and fit.

Some nice tracks ending at the Yanchep Servo. Paul and Karlo headed home.

The group followed some new tracks and some old tracks ending up at the OV and a cold beer.

As you would expect.

We rode a long way. (190 odd Ks.)

We rode for a long time. Not home by lunch.

Was it an adventureYou bet !

Another successful Mick450 ride.
