The Midwest boys got together Saturday night to sort out the logistics for next weeks West Coast Safari ride. Mer said he had fitted a new chain and wanted to go for a blast to stretch it an then readjust it in preparation for the big ride. Col had the new M12s fitted and decided he wanted to knock the edge of them in readiness for the big ride.

Merv dropped by Cols and the boys were off out past Jimmies and on their way towards Mullewa. Merv and Jimmie grew up here and know their way around the back blocks from the early days riding unregoed YZs and the like. Merv had us following on some very sweet goat trails alongside the river before heading cross country in the lovely deep sand that everyone loves.

Finally we hit the rail and dived onto the fast flowing hard packed trails which had made me think why I had dropped the front sprocket down in size and the bike was howling at 100 clicks. Although there were plenty of mud filled pits along the way the dust would have you believe that no rain had fallen in Geraldton for years. There was even a flowing river to cross on the way home.
Fortunately there were no mishaps and the small group knocked up around 90 ks before a short leisurely ride home on the tar and then a 30 minute high pressure wash to drop a wheel barrow of mud out of the guards.

Cols tryes are ready to go, Mervs chain had been stretched.!!! Cant wait for next weeks epic adventure.
