Andrew called a Sunday ride which is a little unusual as most rides occur on a Saturday. This worked in well with my shifts and Andrew's better half was out walking the dog at the million paws walk.

We knew Husky Mike was coming so 3 it was going to be. Mike turnes up to the meet point with his 310 husky and a DRZ400 on the trailer and another punter in the car. The other rider was new player Spike (see pic 5125) Mikes daughter.

2 very disturbing things happened in the carpark.

1: A girl was booted up and ready to go before the Boys.
2: I was about to go dirtbike riding with someone who has glitter on their fingernails (No everybody it wasn't Mike)

Spike has been riding with the old man for many years but not very often so we were taking a nice easy pace. Andrew led us straight to the big deep tight rutted gullies. Spike had a few minor off trying to tame the 310. The single trail with gullies was testing Spike to the extreme. These are the same gullies that have bought grown men to their knees. After 20 odd kms Spike was buggered but after every off the smile never stopped and with some help from dad picked up that Husky 310 got back on and got going again. Back to cars where Spike grabs a beer (as her bottled water was still frozen, what an excuse) and Andrew Mike and myself head off for a bigger loop looking for the big hill climbs over the back.

After some awesome single trail and sucking some dust we hit the hills. I go up 1st but take the wrong line and loose momentum. I step off the bike and WHAM i did not brake my leg this time. Mike as usual sails up on the DRZ and Andrew follows and stops half way up (see pics). Coming up on 12.30 the sun was beating down, dust was getting thicker and Mike had ridden with the Crusties yesterday so a decision to head tto the cars is taken.

Back at the cars Spike is woken by us returning and a welcoming beer is appreciated by all of us.

Thanks Andrew for calling and Mike and Spike Pike for coming along for the ride.

Oopps nearly forgot.

Another thing was niggling at me during the course of today.

There is no way in this world that Spike could be a blood relative of Husky Mike c'mon have you seen Husky Mike? All I can say is Spikes Mum must be one pretty Lady. :-)

And before anyone thinks I might be hurting anyones feeling I asked that same question to both of them on the day. So Mike and Spike this little story is why I asked that question. All in aid of taking the piss out of Mike.

Thanks All Take care

Wrex out.
