Had a blast today. Good turn out for a "Eaasy like Sunday Morning" ride. 10 in total. Found some wet stuff but still lots of dust were the reports from behind. No broken riders which is always good but a few bike troubles.

Players: Andy400, Fudge, Hooters, Mick 530, Tobz450, Vincent, WaynoVB

Nice easy ride planned for Sunday to get me back into the swing of leading and a chance for some injured and newbies to have a go with less pressure. Action started even before the ride! The CRM fell over on the trailer entering the car park (Squished radiator but no leak). Fudge had a flat when he loaded the bike so we set about changing out the front tube. Rider brief and were ready to go. Fudge has another front flat. Hooters to the resucue with a very quick fix and everboby pitching in.

Now were Off! Down to my favourite creek bed to find some mud but things are still very dry, only the odd wet patch. Bugger. I know a spot that has water most of the year so we head that way roughly and find some water, only a small creek but caught a few out. First to go was Vincent with a superman and a kiss on the front guard as the front dug in. Another off to the side trying to steer arround. Thought I had it on video so no photos and no video but Fudge was quick on the scene as allway with the camera. Some more dips through the creek making our own paths went smooth and the final exit I headed for the softest spot I know. Just got through and the others went "stuff that and found anoth path"
As we head off Mick530 has a radiator leak and after chasing down Tobz for the car key heads back with Wayno for some early beers. A mix of tracks, single and some wider and a few of those sh*tty whoops and very slippery - like riding on marbles was mentioned a few times. Dust was happening as displayed on the grins of all behind, I love leading, still cleanish. Most took turns in sweeping with the yellow jacket making it easy to keep track of. One swap of leader for some fine hilly stuff (sorry forgot the name) and the back to some real bush bashing making our way along a dry creek bed with plenty of hazzards, think Mick450 took us down there once but it was about a foot deep in water at the time. Heading back to the cars taking any track that pointed roughly in the right direction and we came upon a sweet single tight flooded mud hole bog. Great fun. Stuck in ruts up to the foot pegs and much bike dragging and we had made it at least 100m down the track. Vincent as usual like to trash my bikes and he didn't let me down this time, only joking not his fault but as he returned to the DRZ it had lost all electrics. No kickstart. Now we only just managed to ride into this area so evacuating the beast proved interesting. Hooter leant a peg to peg tow rope but no good with bump starting on a single muddy track. With the road only 50 meters on the high side of us we try and back track through the undergrowth when suddenly the electics come back on. Good could I think we still might be out there otherwise. A 5k run back on the tar to be safe was in order. About 60ks of sweet fun, thanks guys!
Andy
