Fathers Day
ROTD wasnt discussed, nominate if you want to.
SOTD nominate if you want. Might be that new 350 ktm We headed north through the usual whoops which is always good way to warm up and get the blood pumping. The conditions were good the sand a little damp so not to much dust. As i was on my spare bike for the day ( the trusty old DRZ 250 ) i was going to have my work cut out trying to stay out in front with all the big bikes behind me. Never gone so fast on the DRZ in the sand over whoops. So after i while of thrashing the bags off my bike we found some faster flowing trails with only minimal whoops , although a few 4WD ruts to contend with. We eventualy found nice single trail that ended up at place with a view after a small rocky hill climb. More single trail which suited the little 250 as it was quite tight on firm ground with nice little berms and plenty of rocks stickng out. Next regroup a couple of minor stacks reported with paul reporting a sore knee and was going to call it quits and ride back via the road. He didnt complain much for someone with a broken leg. So the rest head off again into some very over grown tracks almost no track with a few rocks and trees to avoid. Soon after the KTM seems to start making a noise in the engine and cant make it back under it own steam. So the decision is made to ride back to the cars via the road. Big thanks to H for sweeping all morning and for going back with JNR to pick up Pas and his bike. Missed the honda today but the old DRZ 250 withs its half bald tyres and mirrors we did all right. The honda will be ready for capel.   |
