The last METRC enduro for 2012.
The last METRC ride for 2012 was held at Murchison Offroad Adventure Park. We headed up on Saturday morning to give the go karts a flogging and let the nippers ride their quadbikes. A good feed at the sheering shed diner, a few beers around the campfire and were set for Sunday. Even if the course was a little bit shorter than usual at about 12k's it was a ripper. It had everything from fast sand, tight rocky snot, ups and downs and even a little bit of water. Both Carl and Tony managed to drop their bikes on the sight lap, which unfortunately for Colin was the only lap he got to do. A little accident with the grandaughter meant he had to bail. The rest of us had a great ride.
Note from Colin - My Grandaughter tripped and fell into the camp fire just moments before the start of the enduro. It was a very quick pack up and race back to Gero hospital. Her left hand was burnt but fortunatley only second degree burns and all should be good within a few weeks. Lesson learnt - Keep the kids and drnks away from the camp fire!!! As Merv said, the course was great with a bit of everything. We also had a blast on the karts and looking forward to many more. |
