Finke Practice Track Ride
Riders, Buttsy, Nathan and Acid Gloves Eddy.
This one was a bit of a challenge, so much show Acid Gloves Eddy rocked up, but refused to be photographed! Buttsy called a ride hoping on the rain: 115k's of Bush trails and whoops that leads the crew all the way to Woodridge. Some of you guys would already be familiar with this run, Buttsy has taken some players up there before. The day started off good with Nathan and Acid Gloves quite happy to sit back and avoid the dust.A quick stop at Yanchep to add 1.75 litres of fuel in anticipitaion of the long ride ahead. We set off, warmed up, fueled up and pumped up to go. I tell you what, this track exposes your suspension, if it is not quite right, you feel like you are riding a jackhammer that is capable of burying you in the dirt. We ride along and stop between tracks to adjust suspension and grab some drinks.... still no sign of rain (again) The weather is cool and pace is up as we make our way towards the coast after passing through Ridgewood. A quick stop by the sea side and we begin to head back. This track is another good option for those heading off from the OVT, it adds some new terrain and extra k's, but it is recommended not to be done on the weekend for risk of oncoming traffic. On the way back Nathan takes the lead breifly in the tight stuff, just so Buttsy can check out if his suspension is in order. Buttsy regains control of the lead heading back to the OVT before.... Disaster! Nathan finds Buttsy struggling to Breath and on all fours on the track, bike facing the wrong way! After brushing it off, there did become some concern with the health of the Husaberg rider who then went into a cramping scenario. Buttsy had to have a good rest and just limp home; a testimony to the brutality of this ride. Are you man enough to give it a go?
