Tom Pike memorial ride
Mikes dad, a legend in his time.
So Mike sacrificed a finger to him! husq mike called this ride in honour of his father tom who passed away earlier in the week. no real plan except to go in the opposite direction and see where we end up, look for some new trails and just have some fun.pounce wanted to find a big puddle he knew of so he headed off in search of it with the rest of us following. there was a lot of very slippery patches of mud and one of them caught mike out. he lost it on some tight single trail, clipped a tree and landed against another. it knocked the wind out of him for a while but his finger was the real casualty. tommy did some work on the bike and mike decided he could ride it back to the cars. about 15 ks back with mike leading one handed. it didnt slow him down much at all. time for a coldy and off to charlies for stiches. we still did over 80 ks lots of great single trail and avoided those nasty hill climbs. thanks to al for sweeping all day and every one else for helping out. jacko. |
