Buttsy’s Bon Voyage

For me, a bloke who doesn’t work Friday’s the ‘’Skimpy Run” has a lot of appeal. For starters they are on a Friday, the tracks are quieter and the late morning tee off is a winner. A cold beer served post ride by a scantily clad beauty also ensures the jugs keep coming. CRFJason called the ride but Buttsy was handed the Captains cap after suggesting an alternative route to Yanchep. Buttsy’s mate Craig570 joined us for his first Crusty ride and the two big Bergs showed us the way. Winding stuff with berms and fast single trail was a treat with that long awaited rain during the week putting some bite into the tracks. Corner man was rarely required as the fresh bike tracks were easily followed. Bypassed the servo and did a 25k loop of Buttsy’s super secret single trail which for me was the highlight of the day. Back to the servo for lunch and refuel. Further northward we decided, eventually arriving at Woodbridge before taking the coastal route back home. Re rode a bit of the track XRCass showed us last ride and those hard packed snaky 4wd tracks through the dunes are a lot of fun. More fuel, the mandatory ridge run and into that black tight stuff and we’re back at the OVT a bit after 4pm. Beer in hand not long after. A fantastic day all round with 130 k’s covered, no injuries or bike troubles. Buttsy reckons this just might be his last crusty ride for a while as he, the bride, the dog and the caravan (with bike attached) head off on the trip to wherever.
