A later start to take the edge of the cold morning and all on-site by 9am. I look around at the guys and realise I have got some serious Crusty experience out of bed early on a Saturday, sh*t, wish I had planned a route. No time to waste, boot up and boogie time.

Go to my usual favs, a twisting creek bed plus found it goes for longer that I knew, magic warm now even better. First regroup and Peter sweeps in with a flat rear. Many hands make for a quick change including Rooster Mick and Tommy pitching in, and others.

Next off to a mud track and bugger, found the most whooped crap track up there as always. Every time for some reason it just draws you in and try what you want you just have to man up and get it over and done with.

Next Fav always on my list is the small creek that always has water in it and we dip in and out just for the fun of it. The last bit is a large bog hole to get out and I throw the DRZ in. Made it this time – that’s 2/10. Cols in for it as is Tommy and JNR and all make it through. Some others find the way round, a very sensible choice. Up hills and into a section I like to call the “Wiggles”, twist and turn, up and down and go forever, brilliant!

Some fast transport section proves that a black cat needs to complete the pass in front of you for it to be unlucky to you. Not a very nice moment but proberly a favour for the natural fauna.

The big hill calls and we head the wrong direction along a track to it get there. Husky Mike told me it was a hard track but this way even harder with a big sign in the middle of the bush saying “Dummy Spit Hill” it was a good photo opportunity. Cols off, H and Brynn struggle, Tommy and husky Mike get up another way and Peter just goes bush. Nearly gets a stick to the balls (see photos). Finally regroup and off to the big hill and some boys have a play for fun while some take it easy at the base and enjoy the chaos.

From here on in its single track most of the way, new tracks, old tracks but all excellent. Finally we get an off with Husky Mike going down and readjusting his GoPro to an interesting angle. Don’t think it will catch on but who knows. This causes an oil leak so we decide to make a beeline for the car park and quit while the bikes and riders are all in one piece and maximum fun has been obtained.
