The Lakes - wobble and fall.
Great weather Sunday , sunshine but still plenty of puddles and moisture left over from the weeks rain. We both got there in good time for a 12:00 kick off and set out with Thomas taking lead as it was my first time at the Lakes. All new ground for me so I took the time to inspect it closely at every opportunity (6 falls/drops). The XR was a bitch to start after every fall, so thanks to Thomas for the patience shown waiting for me to kick her back to life. Now I know where you blokes get all the punctures, I've never seen so many rocks and roots, great to experience some new riding conditions but I had to give up after 2 attempts at what seemed like a massive hill climb. Only 38 kms covered due to my slow and wobbly progress but a good afternoons fun anyway. |
