Cass's sandy adventure.
So 6 turn up for a 8am start from cass's house. Cass Xradam andyktm and myself riding and johnno and bazza driving support. We wait for a gap in the rain to leave cass's house, needn't of bothered as we all got wet any way. Had the usuall sandy trail mix as far as Moore river where as we hit the bitumen 10 ks out the heavens opened all soaked through with about 200ks to go we all loaded up with pies and coffee. Back on the bikes to our next fuel stop at lancelin where I discovered I had torn the valve from my front tube ( that's how fast I ride) nothing to do with running 2psi, tube changed and we are into to the dunes for a play and head on up two Cervantes for more fuel, wet dry wet dry get to Cervantes servo WET AND COLD. More coffee and food and we hit the bitumen for a while 3 ks from Jutish and cass spots a whole in the scrub on the side of the road so back on it we go we all come alive for a final blurt before it's all over for the day, well the riding anyway. Gets to house and what a beauty johnno and baz are just unloading the eskis full of beer and sausage and cheese chips and johnnos missus special dip woohoo awesome. So boots off and we tuck in. Beers flowing well one by one we peel of to freshen up before we hit the pub for 2 quick beers and a feed. Hah. Try 8 beers 2 JDs and a few vodka redbulls and dj Ryan on the decks. I do believe there was a few shots floating around but anyway we were all tiled safe and sound by 2am. ( apart from bazz who I think was chatting to some barman fro Cervantes ) All up and out for breaky in the morning and then kit on, johnno is riding to and what an eventful day. 3 over the hangers, two rapped in barbed wire, 1 flat, 4 exhausted a bee sting and 20 in lingerie. How's that sound. The best part of the Saturday ride was after Andy decided he wanted home and was taking the quickest route no matter what, so after a bit of breaking and entering and highly illegal trespassing to a undisclosed location it was on, I'm talking 120kph high speed drifting round big sweepers for about 20 or so ks, it was awesome. Johnno and Xradam were on it with smiles from ear two ear at the end. just after that I got coughy up in about 20m of barbed wire rapped around my hub and disc. Untangled and off we go, soon back into some unexplored Junes with some of the softest sand I have ever experienced ( it reminded me of the snow in Austria) but that's another story). And that's when we all start going over the hangers first johnno then myself and followed by cass. All ok and on we go to an in scheduled stop to fix cass's           |
