22 Mar 14.
Relaxed start to the day as drove to Bunbury Fri night. Out to take off spot before 8am. 3 amigos who know the area well were ready to go. Small group great to combat the dust.
Off into single trail and tracks. Dust was there but not a drama as a strong cool breeze kept the dust away and kept us cool. Great conditions made for an awesome day.
A bit skaty on the rear on all the tracks due to dry conditions, not much traction on rear braking but this made for a bit of fun.
Dust in the single track especially the pines was bugger all so good through there.
Some gnarly huge hills sorted us out. Hit em hard in third but keeping the power down ¾ the way up got us all as there was nothing for the rear to grip on. Another try and up we go.
Some great single track through there. Dazza wishing he had his 350 rather than the 450 berg possibly.
Back to some more hills that when wet are no problems. Today though being dry traction was lost easy. At one stage 3 bikes and 3 riders down on the hill. Dazza tumble rolled ninja style down the hill ready to attack some phantom foe half way down.
Other hills that are full of clay in winter were a breeze today and made for some great riding. It also made the downhills easier.
Dazza had more energy than the rest of us late in the day and we watched him sitting under the trees in the breeze hitting the big hill again.
We all sat there for a bit after enjoying the scenery and as we are all getting older it took a bit of effort getting up again off the ground after the days efforts.
Everyone commented on what a top day it was. For me it was an awesome ride with two experienced local riders that made the day flow really well. Thanks fellas.
Benefit with these conditions, no mud to clean off so cleaning the bike a breeze.
Photos to come from Dazza.
Cheers.
