Late call by Clean man on Friday for an early ride on Sat morning. Pounce, HusqMike, Spike, MexcianCRAIG300, Colin, WrfPaul, JNR and adopted son of Clean man - Young Fella Jamie 350 (well that his name until he gets of his rear into gear and registers on the Crusty site!!). I think I have everyone??
No set plan or route in mind, just take it as it comes. The day started early, apparently HusqMike was woken from his slumber by Spike. HM was snoring to the tune of a Husky 610, well, that would normally be the case, given I have spent the odd night with HM around a camp fire!!
The first 10 to 15 kms were very interesting (some would say scary) considering everyone’s googles were either fogging up or had dew on them, made it a challenge to pick the rocks and gutters, by the 17/20km mark everyone had their goggles around their neck or wrists. Note to self, get a better anti fog application or have a sleep in until the fog/dew is gone.
Anyway, things progressed well, until a regroup when Pounce mentioned a good single track that would pretty much take us back the cars.
Thanks Pounce for the excellent knowledge of the area, there is no substitute for someone who knows the area well.
The track did not disappoint, good flowing sections and then the odd tight section which kept you on your toes, as well as the puddle or two. Then the odd slippery section that would catch you out with either the back wheel trying to overtake the front or the front deciding it would head off in another direction or both wanting to go in a different direction to where you wanted to go. Good stuff!
It was a great half day ride no serious get offs, just the odd little bike drop here and there, so it is always a good day without injuries or bike damage.
Thanks again to all who turned up.
I need to get my act together and learn how to use a GPS properly. I definitely need something, as I suffer from Gold Fish memory, forget where I have been!!
Thanks Pounce and MexicanCraig300 for taking the lead duties near the end much appreciated and HusqMike for the sweep duties. You need to get smoker or 350!!!!!!!! The Black pig does not help you in the whoops!!
I will post some pics as well.
