Capel Capers Ride VIII 23/08/2014
DazzaM, Pete450, Shotter and KtmShaun were the riders on the day. Conditions were great for riding and there was not as much water around as there was last time we rode Capel. Some downhill sections still have water flowing down the tracks but not as much water is sitting on the flat sections. The main creek crossing is passable but I don’t think the Capel 200 ride is going thru it. We covered all types of terrain but no hills as Capel is pretty flat. We did a few sections of the Capel 200 ride that is on next Saturday, a ride that should be a fairly easy one but will still be good. They have bypassed the bog hole sections of last year and are picking up on some old trails of previous Capel 200 rides. It will be interesting to see how some of the tracks will hold up if we get more rain because they are one-lined and might get boggy and might get some deep ruts happening. We all had a good ride, covering about the 100 kays with a good pace set and no major offs. A few rest time-outs and we were back at the cars by 2:00pm to enjoy a well earned beer. Cheers again for the ride and KtmShaun for heading down from Perth. I’ll add some photos but once again nothing too exciting. Look forward to seeing those that are riding the Capel 200 next weekend.
