Ride report Balingup
Myself, terry & cogers met up at spot and off we went in search of some old loops i used to ride. After a short run down the gravel road and into a greasy twin track we arrived at our first hill for the day. After a couple of moments we all got to the top no worries,so off down some single trail we went and then over to the BIG dippers. These are three HUGE hills one after the other like a roller coaster,up and down again that are slippery clay with deep ruts and a few rocks and logs to keep things interesting. Once again the going was tough with more than one attempt needed but we all made it through. At this stage it was clear we were in for an awesome days riding. Next off we went down bit more gravel and down and up more flowing hills with erosion mounds just in the right spot and hard on the gas had me grinning in my helmet like a kid. Then into more hardly ridden single trail through loam town which had us arriving at next BIG hills, at which point we had a much needed breather. Back on the bikes and several more hill climbs with flowing stuff in between had us back at the cars three hours later with only 41 klms traveled !! After lunch we headed out for more single trail with one track after the other all linking together and a couple of easy hills. Terry offered me a go on the berg 350 and i wasn't about to say no. These bikes are so flickable in the single trail they feel like a bmx compared to my 450 it was a shame to give it back, so thanks again terry. A couple of hours and only 32 klms later we were back at the cars for a well deserved beer. All in all this was an awesome but hard ride and cant wait for next time. With a lot of the tracks getting so cut up down here it was great to go some where different and we all had a ball.
Cheers Pete
