Late November @ Wokey
Ride report:
Late November cruise at Woky. 6 Riders: DazzaM, Twoody, Hooters, WR Rob, Ktm Shaun and newbie Chris (used to be on the site a few years back though). Great day looming as we drove to Woky as there was good cloud cover and a little bit of drizzle. We decided to head over the far side after Dazza took us on a warm up track. Found the tracks and hit a great hill. A few repairs then as the clutch reservoir on Chris’ bike was refilled and bled after being dry. Then we tackled one of the gnarliest hills in Woky after we traversed down it first to get a read. Hooters had first crack. Then I had a crack and got a bit further up. Then Rob had a crack and got just a bit further again before bogging down. Dazza had a couple of shot’s also at the tough section and was stuffed when he got back down as the day was starting to warm up. Had some great flowing tracks after that and then headed back to the cars before heading out for round two on the main side. Had a few good hills on this side. Thanks to Rob for leading this section. Some were much easier than normal without the mud. Yet some of the ones that are good in the wet had bugger all traction in the dry thus this made it tougher to get any traction on the steep sections. Most of us eventually got up that hill and we went back around to meet up at the bottom. Dazza decided to tackle a sawn off tree stump at speed and came off second best but luckily no major damage so after a few nurofen to numb the pain we were off again. At about 1pm we decided that we had already had a great day out and it was time for a well-earned beer as it was heating up with all the earlier cloud cover gone. Top day out with very little dust. Great to have those conditions this late in the year and a great group of riders to enjoy it with. Dazza has some photos to upload tomorrow. Cheers.   |
