Jarrahwood Ride Saturday 19/03
Three Crusties turned up on a very short notice call - Justin, Marytn and myself, with Mick the local rider joining in and leading the ride. I have to say that Mick certainly knows his tracks and how to link in sections. We started off in Jarrahwood and were on the bikes before 8.30am, making our way through some good sections of single trail. With Mick linking in one section to the next, we did a bit of ‘bush bashing’, was all good and added to the days experience. The mornings ride entailed sections of single trail, some technical uphill climbs and some open ride trails. Maybe it was the fact that there was only 4 of us, the dust was down and it wasn’t too bad out there on the day. We ended up making our way through to the Kirup Pub just after 12pm for a very refreshing beer and steak sandwich, which all went down pretty well. We decided we couldn’t stay there so got back on the bikes and after a lethargic first part of the ride, we all managed to get our second wind and started getting right into some really good sections of single trail and fast paced open pine tracks. We arrived back at the cars just after 5pm and 160kms. Was a great day, as before dust wasn’t too bad and hopefully can talk Mick into taking us back out again in a few weeks time. By that stage we might have had some rain. Will keep you posted when we organise this ride again as I think some of you will enjoy it.
