Riders DazzaM, KTM Shaun, Kyron M and Twoody
I think with the rain that happened over the week cured most places of the dust issue when riding and Capel was no exception with spot on riding conditions. I thought there may have been some more water flowing through the creeks but not at this stage.
Decided to mix it up a little this time and running the opposite way which turned out to be a better way in a lot of spots. Some sections of tracks though have copped a hammering as they have had a lot of whoops formed and were very deep in some sections. Just right for the Capel 200 this year!!! We did notice that there were other bikes out taking advantage of the conditions so it was steady as you go in some places, but as the ride went on you could see the tracks left but we didn't come across them, which was good.
With just the four of us and as said before with the dirt being perfect, pace was good and it didn't take too long to get to the half way point for a break. From there we took off on a new section of single trail, and if I could remember the whole track would take you to Kirup, but we took a detour and hooked back up into the main single trail.
From there it was back to the cars, clocking up just over a 100kays of open tracks and Capel's well known single tracks. No issues on the day except for Kyron who stacked it going over a log. Scratched up helmet and busted a hand guard. But I suppose that one doesn't count for STOD as no one saw it happen, only the aftermath.
All in all a great day's ride.
Cheers Dazza
