SPPPR
(Sean's Piss Poor Preparation Ride).
KtmShaun's piss poor preperation ride. DazzaM posted up a Wokalup ride. 7 crusties bravely showed up will little regard to what the weathermen said, DazzaM, Darin, Pete450, Martyn, Huskymike, KtmShaun n CapelloMick. A quick 10k loop to warm up & back past the cars and on to the ride proper. A bit of single track n fire trails led to the first climb which was every man for himself and a different line for each, apparently I cheated & took the easy line. Darin struggled a little but with a little help from his friends got to the top. DazzaM assured Darin that was as hard as it gets and so on we went on up the washed out, rutted hills. Darin decided discretion was the better part of valour n called it a day without seeing Suicide Hill which was next on the list. CapelloMick managed to get lost somehow on this, which was a first. The usual mix for logs n single trail led to a fast section along the power lines where KtmShaun's rear wheel bearing sadly passed away which left the magnificent 5 to finish the ride in style. A good pace all day, the usual Wokalup ups and downs, the weather held good which was a blessing and a few coldies to finish off with the usual piss taking. Bring on the next one. Martyn I did 15kms and then whimped out today. The first rocky, gnarly hill we came to, exceeded my ability and I thought if I am doing this all day, nothing good is going to come out the other end. I took myself off to Pinjarra, and tried to retrace "Bills Record Breaker" ride from a few years ago. Did about 50kms all up, some quite nice tracks. Thanks Dazza, sorry for pulling out. Darin Great ride today in Woky. The rain held off mostly which I for one was hoping for. Started with 7 & ended with 5. Thanks all for coming, DazzaM led the way, everyone else had a go a sweep. Report in the post as I don't have internet but got nominated to write it. Martyn Well I had fun today. Had a blast through the single trails and hill climbs. Good to be back on the Berg today and giving it a thrash as I've been on the two strokes for most of the time in the last couple of months. Thanks to those that rocked up today and made it fun Darin,Ktm Shaun,Husky M,Martyn,Pete 450 and Mick local rider. Dazzam Great ride guys on Sat guys , met some new riders from down south country, Mike and Pete. A bit mean of Dazza to hit Darren with Bobs hill so early in the day,although it did not get much harder than that. Actually, Bob's was the easy bit, there was one good challenging down hill + the area around pipeline hill and a few others, not a walk in the park. Might have been a wise move Darren. In memory of Sean's rear bearing failure, it should be called the SPPPR. (Sean's Piss Poor Preparation Ride). Sorry Sean you deserved that.Only have seen it happen once on a ride before. I suppose you will get the ride point as you got past 1/2 way. Thanks Dazza for the lead.I have some tracks to fill in the gaps. Next time. Husq Mike     |
