Zen at Capel

Plenty of rain about so it seemed like a good time to see how chopped up the tracks have become after the Capel 200. Geared up in the rain which cleared soon after we got going. Straight into some whoops to get the arms cranking before hitting the single trail. More water than has been out there for ages. The big river crossing was flowing fast and deep. The main line through would have drowned the bike so we had to pick a new line further up which I checked the depth by walking straight in. We all decided on a good line and we all got through which saved going around. Not long after we hit some flowing fire trails and it was on. The 4 amigos racing the sweeping berms made for great fun. I did not see it but Marto had a moment and narrowly missed a tree at speed. The Capel track water holes were deeper than normal due to all the bikes during the 200. Great conditions though and a cracking pace was set all day. A few offs. I managed to stay upright all day which was enjoyable. No other issues to mention. No sweep needed as with 4 we just kept it moving and corner man rarely had to wait. Dazza did a great job and has become the leading guru. I think a carton is long overdue mate!
