Pete called a ride down Busselton way as he's been working on trying to piece some tracks together utilising the tracks from the Busso 2-Day Enduro. While there were concerns it was going to be a very wet day, it turned out to be a perfect day with the rains stopping as we pulled up to the parking spot, only to start again after the day's ride.
Took the 200 down and with a worn rear tyre, might not have been the best choice as the conditions were similar to Capel, with lots of water everywhere. It was steady as you go around the corners and through sections of the enduro loop as a lot of the whoops and corners were filled with water and not knowing how deep they were.
Morning ride consisted of linking up sections of tracks out that way, must be something in the water out that way for the roos. They were massive and we came across quite a few of them. After approx 70 odd kms, we went back to the cars to refuel bodies and bikes then headed off for some exploration work. After a bit of riding around we came across a track that Pete remembered from many years ago and some of the pink tape was still tied to the trees. It turned out to be really good single trail. Need to go back to that one to mark the trees a little better as some of the tape had disappeared over the years.
We also came across log stacks. Thought I'd have a shot at getting over them. Proved a bit more difficult than i thought, given the logs were a bit slippery from the rain and the near-bald rear tyre didn't help. I'll get back to that one another day when it's a bit drier.
All in all it was another good day's ride. More of a cruisier one with faster open sections linking up to the single trails. Always good to ride different areas. Thanks to Pete for leading and showing us around. It will be good to head down that way again after it has dried out a bit and a new rear tyre. I'll see you all out on the tracks again.
