Trail Report: 20th November 2004
Report by Peter The run this week was in traditional CQ country at Pippi and the turn out was large. Rob took us on a difficult narrow, sandy and high skill level ride which tested most rider’s skill and endurance in the heat and dust of a WA summer. New rider Simon H found the going tough but much to his credit and guts he hung in there and did the trek. Well done to the young guys Jed and Dillan for riding well with the “big boys”. The big meet at the OVT for departure. Moose mountain was once feared but as the huge bumps at the top have rounded out the 75 - 80 degree face seems less awesome. Just to prove he can do it Peter finally scales moose mountain. This is what it looks like from the bottom...and no that is not me stuck at the top. Mike did it too and so did most of the others. Oh yeah and Rob did it from a standing start at the bottom...2 stroke 500 cc power? The boys at Alkimos. Simon H. loved this stuff. BBQ Chief (Col) with his collar films the events for an upcoming CQ DVD spectacular. BBQ Chief cooking the snags...Steve says can I have one Col? Mini Me has escaped and grown a bit Cooling down Aussie style. The boys chow down... This rider never made it. As the boys look south the houses just keep coming closer...end of Marmion Ave. Simon H's 57th fall nearly went into the hole...Simon says promise me you won't do it again. What is left of the Alkimos? Not much... |
