As the weather heats up, the best place to head to is the coast. We did a little more beach work than normal on this ride as the beach is cooler and without dust. It was great to see Pounce and Howard out for a ride as it had been a while. Pounce's mighty old XR looks a treat with it's recent reno.

FIRST STOP FOR A BREAK - WEDGE ISLAND - THE TIDE WAS WELL OUT AND ONLY A BIT OF SHALLOW WATER SEPERATED THE ISLAND FROM THE MAINLAND.

WE TRIED TO RIDE A LITTLE FURTHER ON THE BEACH THAN NORMAL BUT RAN OUT OF BAYS ONLY A COUPLE OF KM'S PAST THE USUAL TURN OFF POINT. AS PETE SAYS "ADB, EAT YOUR HEART OUT - THIS A IS CRUSTY QUINNS TOUR"

PETE RECONS HAVING BIG COL MAC HEAD TOWARDS HIM AT 100 KPH IS A BIT SCARY. I RECON BIG COL MAC IS SCARY ALL THE TIME.

DAVID PICKED UP SOTD BY UNLOADING THE 300 ON THE BEACH ON A SOFT BIT. CHECK OUT THE SAND JUST TO THE RIGHT OF THE BIKE. TOO BAD THE CAMERA DIDN'T COME OUT A LITTLE QUICKER.

COL PULLING A WHEELIE.

POUNCE LIKE TO LOOK AT THE CAMERA WHILE HE PULLS A WHEELIE.

The beach was in top condition for a fast pace ride today. My GPS showed I clocked 132 KPH top speed and yet a Grant and Big Col Mac were actually pulling away from me today. There were no major problems today. John525 picked up a rear flat about 5 k's from home and said it was great fun riding the KTM with the back end trying to overtake the front end. Howard lead us most of the ride and Roley took on the role as sweep. David rode a bit quiet today which is not his normal style but as usual, we all had a top ride and can't wait to do it in the dark in a couple of weeks.
