THE RIDERS MEETING.

THE RIDERS LEAVING THE OFF ROAD CARPARK HEADING NORTH.

The day started off just like many other rides. We met at the OVT at 7.30 and moved in convoy up to Lano, unloaded the bikes, booted up and Sully to control up front and we were off to Cervantes. About 15 k's out of Wedge, Sticks, one of the new fellows picked up a flat and a tube change was needed to get the bike rolling again.

OK - YOU HOLD THE TUBE FOR HIM SULLY WHILE I STAND HERE AND WATCH. THERE'S NO I IN TEAM!!!

Underway again and Sully picked up the pace and the faster riders chased him. Still the day was like most others. Pete went over the bars in a dune and came out looking like a truck load of beach sand had been tipped over him. I thought he was looking good for the SOTD award at that stage although Pete and Roley are often strong contenders for that prestigious award. LOL

On we went to Cervantes to fill up the tanks and the bellies. Some of the belly's hold more than the tanks I noticed. My bike only took 5 litres but I recon those burgers with the lot have a far greater capacity. Even the trip back to Wedge was pretty normal except as we pulled back into Wedge, a motorcyclist was bought in on the back of a ute with Annie the nurse sitting with him and he was not looking too flash.

The excitement started when the group came across a solo woman driving in the same direction. The group was spread out over a couple of k's and when the last few riders approached this "nut" she had obviously had enough of dirt bikes for one day. She stopped in the middle of the track and appeared to be getting out of her ute. She then started to close her door so Col Mc decided to ride on around her nice and gently. As Col got up level with her she deliberately swang open her door at him and he ran straight into it. Dazza was right behind Col and saw the whole thing.

I came around the bend just a few seconds later to find Col trying to get to his feet and his bike almost under her front wheels. Col was heard saying that "if she wasn't a woman he would have punched her lights out by now". Dazza and Col were trying to talk to her about why she had done what she had done. The woman was rambling mostly nonsense and then when Col asked her to get details, jumped in her car and took off.

Luckily we had an ambulance chaser with us (Pete), who memorised her rego and gave Col some advise, pro bono, about what action to take. Col reported the incident to the Lano police and we will have to wait to find out the outcome. Col also took a trip down to the hospital at Joondalup and was told he had a couple of broken fingers, a dead leg to the thigh and a bruised ego.

The boys helped Col load his bike on the ute back at Lano and were trying to get him aboard his new plastic loading ramp for a pic. You have to see this thing to believe it. It is bright yellow Telly Tubby playground slide if you have never seen one. Unfortunately Col was not in the mood for a good laugh at his expense.

Of course Col picked up SOTD without even asking but I did throw it out to the boys for nominations for ROTD. Sully said he couldn't help out because he was up front all day. Pete and Col were down the rear end of the field and didn't get to see too much action. Dazza piped up and commented on how exceptionally well he had had rode. I just laughed and said, "if you don't ask, you don't get". Well done Dazza for an exceptionally good nomination.

Hope the injuries get better quickly Col. Maybe next time you shouldn't worry if a dick head like that is male or female when it comes to a bit of well deserved retribution.
