Col Mc called a Lano run looking for a change after a few weeks of goat trails and CQ land. 8 riders turned up and were getting booted up in the Off Road carpark when H and Col Mc decided it was time to play in the telly tubby slide. I think H got a little upset at Col Mc because Col went first yelling at H "its my slide, I can go first if I want." Little boys should learn to play properly with each other!!!!

Not 20 K's into the ride, Neil picked up a front flat on some of that lovely cap rock. Being his first ride up that way and expecting lots of soft sand he had let his tyres down a few PSI. Another lesson to learn guys - Fit heavy duty tubes before you hit the trails.

After the flat was fixed we caught up to the other riders waiting a few k's down the track. We were ready to take off when H said his bike didn't feel right. It was hard to start and making a funny noise. He took off as lead rider anyway but pulled up only a short way down the track with a loss of power and the noise getting louder. He decided to head back to the cars and Col MC went with him. With the aid of a tow rope the 450 KTM towed H back to Lano. That's the HOG award for you H. A chat to H later in the evening revealed a cracked engine casing, broken magneto and oil where it was not supposed to be. That sounds expensive mate.

The group took off again with "little" Col up front this time. The new guy Andrea, a French coffee shop owner from Fremantle rode in second position a lot of the ride. After a 12 year break from dirt bikes and after only a couple months back riding again, he picked up ROTD for his huge efforts. He was even seen taking the bike for a swim at one stage and came out soaked to the skin.

After a section of very narrow and soft breach between Hangover Bay and Kangaroo Bay the boys regrouped to head back on some flat stuff for the last few k's before Cervantes. Roley was heard complaining that the beach was far too soft, he hates riding in it and that he got stuck up to the axles after losing momentum behind another rider who was having trouble. All I can say is " Whinge, whinge, bloody whinge" His brothers apparently took him behind the bakery back at Lano and gave him a good bitch slapping. LOL.

Adrian and Neil kept a good solid pace going the whole ride. For the riders who have done this ride a heap of times it feels pretty easy. For your first ride up that way it feels like a marathon. Neil and Adrian dragged themselves into Lano looking quite stuffed. Adrian recon his legs could hardly hold his weight and found sitting easier even on the rough stuff. I recon I could have found some extra cap rock and some more whoopies for them - Only joking. Well done guys. I hope we didn't scare you off another one.

Roley rode sweep and as I said had a whinge (love to rub that in) Pete rode half the ride at the back and second half after Wedge chasing Col on the fast sections. He can stick to you like shit to a blanket when he wants. Good ride to you too Pete.

Another day in paradise. If you are reading this report from somewhere else in the world where you don't have a lot of open spacers, all I can say is SUFFER BABY.
