Metro Road.
Report by Col.
Every ride is different and it doesn't matter how many times we head to Metro it's always great this time of the year. With just enough rain during the week to keep the dust down but enough to fill up a few holes, a couple of the mud puddles were a little challenging. Some of the tracks we normally rode in had to be ridden in reverse which makes them feel like "new" ones. We even did the hill climb in reverse. Kingsley's only been on a couple of rides before but is pretty consistent at falling off. I didn't see it but the boys said if he had of let go of the throttle as the rear wheel was passing the front wheel he may just of stayed on. That's another SOTD buddy. Keep the good work up. A really scary thing to do is to chase Kingsley into a corner at a fast pace as he locks the rear of the Kwaka up and stalls it while you try to find an alternative route around him through thick scrub and big trees at 80 kph.. Adrian and Neil were let out of the nursing home for the morning as they wanted to avoid bingo and were glad they did. Adrian did a top job riding sweep and kept a good eye on Lindsay who kept in company down the rear of the pack most of the ride. Pounce has a soft spot for Metro's and in particular the whoops. His only comment after the ride was that he really can't wait to get out there and do it again!!!!!! BMWbeej and Chris were both pretty quiet today taking their turns throughout the pack and enjoying being lead around the bush. Big Col Mc bought the "Gas Gas" out again and seemed to be getting into a bit of a rhythm until we hit those bloody whoops again on the way home. A new fellow Andrew came out on his nice new Husky and showed plenty of skill. He says he likes the goat trails and the more technical stuff. Did we all enjoy the ride? - We sure did. ANDREW - THE NEW KID!! THE GROUP HAVE A BREAK AND WAIT UP FOR SOME OF THE AUSTRALIAN SAFARI BOYS TO COME PAST. A SAFARI CONTESTANT ANOTHER SAFARI CONTESTANT. |
